MCSI Student Agreement
Read this before the programme opens. It covers what you may and may not do with the lessons, what happens to the work you hand in, and what earns a certificate.
You sign this once, from your dashboard, before week one opens. Read it now if you are still deciding — the fee is not refundable once your lesson access has been opened.
01 · Who this is between
This agreement is between MaNiFy Creative Sonic Arts Institute ("MCSI", "we") and you, the student named at the end of it.
It starts the day you sign and runs until you leave the programme. The parts about confidentiality and recordings carry on after you leave, as set out below.
02 · Your seat is yours alone
One seat covers one person. Your sign-in belongs to you and you alone.
You may not share your sign-in details, let anyone else watch the lessons through your account, or sit anyone else in your place at a live session.
We can see when one account is used by more than one person. Doing it is treated as a breach under 'If you break this agreement'.
03 · Confidentiality
Much of what happens on this programme is not public. That includes the lesson videos and their contents, session files, templates, notes and written material; anything said in a live class; the feedback your tutor gives you; the work other students hand in and the feedback they receive; and any unreleased music played in class.
You agree to keep all of it to yourself. You will not repeat it, publish it, post it, forward it, summarise it publicly, or pass it to anyone outside the programme — including in a group chat, a class, a video, or a paid or unpaid teaching of your own.
This duty continues for three years after you leave the programme. For anything told to you in confidence about unreleased music or another person's private work, it does not expire.
It does not stop you talking about your own experience of the programme, showing your own work, or saying that you studied here.
04 · No recording of any kind
You may not record the lessons or the live sessions. That means no screen recording, no screen capture or screenshots, no filming the screen with a phone or camera, no audio recording, no downloading, no ripping, and no re-streaming or mirroring to anyone else.
You may not circumvent, or attempt to circumvent, any technical measure that protects the lessons.
Write as many notes as you like. Notes are yours. Recordings are not.
Be aware that every lesson is watermarked with your name and email while it plays. If a recording of an MCSI lesson surfaces anywhere, it can be traced back to the account it was played on.
Breaking this clause ends your place on the programme immediately, with no refund, and we reserve every legal remedy available to us.
05 · The teaching material stays ours
The lesson videos, session files, templates, exercises, briefs, marking rubrics and written material are the property of MCSI and its instructors.
While you are enrolled you have a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning. That licence ends when you leave the programme or if this agreement is terminated.
You may not sell, licence, republish, or teach from our material, or build a competing course from it.
06 · The work you make stays yours
You own the music and the projects you create on this programme. We claim no share of your masters, your publishing, or your future earnings from them.
So that we can actually teach you, you give us permission to store your submissions, play them in class for critique, and use them internally for marking, moderation and training our instructors.
We will not use your work publicly — in promotion, on our website, in a showreel, or on social media — unless you tick the separate box giving us permission. That box is optional, it changes nothing about your place on the programme, and you may withdraw it at any time by emailing us.
07 · Do your own work
Everything you hand in must be substantially your own. Where you have used a collaborator, a session player, a sample pack, a preset or a stock loop, say so in your submission notes.
Passing off someone else's work as yours, or misrepresenting how a piece was made, may cost you the certificate. This follows section 10 of the MCSI Academic Handbook.
08 · How you treat other people here
Critique is central to how this programme works. Give it to the work, not to the person, and take it the same way.
Harassment, discrimination, threats, slurs, and sexual or abusive conduct have no place here and will end your enrolment.
Do not solicit other students for unrelated business, and do not approach them commercially off the back of the programme without their agreement.
09 · How the programme runs
The programme runs ten weeks. Each week ends in one named deliverable, and the next week opens only once the one before it has passed.
Attend the sessions you are asked to attend, and hand your work in. If life gets in the way, tell your tutor before the deadline rather than after it.
Instructors may adjust pacing to suit the cohort, as set out in section 11 of the Academic Handbook.
10 · Earning the certificate
A certificate is earned, not given. To receive one you must attend the required sessions, submit all major deliverables, complete the capstone project, and show professional conduct.
The capstone is mandatory. Instructors may withhold certification where the standard has not been met, or where this agreement has been broken.
11 · Fees and refunds
The programme fee is payable in full before access opens, unless we have agreed otherwise with you in writing.
Once your lesson access has been opened, the fee is non-refundable. The material is delivered to you immediately and in full, which is why we cannot offer a refund after that point.
If MCSI cancels a cohort before it begins, you receive a full refund.
Non-payment of any agreed instalment suspends access until it is settled.
12 · Your personal information
We hold your name, contact details, payment record, submissions and marks in order to run the programme and issue certificates. We handle it in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act and our privacy policy at mcsiedu.com/privacy.
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the services that make the platform work — payments, email delivery and video hosting.
Your certificate, if you earn one, carries a serial number that anyone can check at mcsiedu.com/verify. That page confirms the certificate is genuine and names the holder.
13 · If you break this agreement
Depending on what happened, we may give you a warning, suspend your access, withhold your certificate, or remove you from the programme.
Recording or leaking lessons, sharing your account, or abusing another person here will normally mean immediate removal without a refund.
Removal for breach does not limit any other remedy available to us, including recovering losses caused by a leak.
14 · What we do and do not promise
We promise to teach the programme described in the Academic Handbook, to mark your work, and to give you real feedback from someone who produces for a living.
We do not promise a job, a placement, a release, a signing, streams, income, or any particular career outcome. What you get out of this depends largely on the work you put in.
Nothing here limits our liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
15 · Changes to these terms
If we need to change this agreement, we will publish a new version and ask you to sign it. Your existing signature covers the version you signed and nothing else.
Continued access after a new version is issued depends on signing it.
16 · Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it.
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must countersign before you begin.
